Bhai Kanhaiya Jee was the most beloved of all Guru Gobind Singh's followers. As a result of his great service, Guru Gobind Singh felt that Kanhaiya Jee deserved the greatest gift he could give. He asked Bhai Sahib to think of what he wanted more than anything else in the world, and told him that his wish would be granted. Kanhaiya Jee thought long and hard, and then told the Guru that he would like a son who was a lotus flower in a pool of mud. The Guru granted this wish also. He blessed Kanhaiya Jee with an extraordinary son, Baba Ajit Singh. The movie opens with one of the most daring deeds of valor in Indian history, where Baba Ajit Singh was such a hero as to be called the Lion (Singh) among men for his bravery and fearlessness despite being only sixteen years old. A Muslim Sultana wanted to take over Amritsar and had amassed her army across the river waiting for their commander Nusrat Khan. The commander was supposed to come from Lahore, but he never came. The soldiers grew restless and began to wonder if their commander would ever arrive. When the Sultana's men finally crossed the river, Baba Ajit Singh attacked them single-handedly and forced them back into the water. The situation was tense because the opponent was much larger than he and had killed many warriors far more powerful than him, but Baba Ajit Singh remained fearless and became famous as Lionheart among his men. When Nusrat Khan arrived with his army of forty thousand, Baba Ajit Singh crossed the river again with only thirty soldiers to face them, despite protests from his general Sardar Jai Singh. When Baba Ajit Singh challenged Nusrat Khan, the Sultana's commander told him that he had come to take Amritsar and it was his destiny to win. Baba Ajit Singh replied that it was his destiny to stop him, and the battle between the two began. Although Nusrat Khan had far more soldiers and a larger army, Baba Ajit Singh used guerilla warfare tactics to defeat them. He did not try to defeat all of them but instead focused on defeating Nusrat Khan himself. When the Sultana's men heard that Nusrat Khan was dead, they turned and fled. Baba Ajit Singh had killed the invader and defended Amritsar single-handedly. After his victory, Baba Ajit Singh asked for his wish to be granted. He expressed a desire to become a warrior for the Guru and to be able to defend the country from invaders at all cost. The Guru blessed him with another wish - he would have seven brave sons by five wives. Baba Ajit Singh's first son, Baba Jujhar Singh is also depicted as an incredibly brave young man. cfa1e77820
